Your Ultimate Movie Manager

Which movie manager to buy? What movie manager do you personally need? This question was in the focus of our latest online survey devoted to movie managers and their most crucial features.

One of respondents writes that he needs "the one satisfying all my needs". "Well, I actually need a movie manager which is really powerful (must be able to handle as many as several hundred or even thousand movies I possess)" says the user. "It must work fine with all movie formats available (including Blu-Ray, HD DVD discs), but be easy to work with at the same time ("movie managers are sometimes very hard to deal with and that just drives me crazy" says one of the respondents)" – that’s another point of view. How to unite all the necessary-for-users features in one progressive movie cataloguing software? How to make the right choice?

We have conducted a survey to find out for sure what is especially needed and therefore appreciated in movie organizing software. Here are the results.

Approximately 25 per cent of respondents make the corner-stone of program’s compatibility with other popular database formats. "For me it’s just vital to have almost unlimited export and import opportunities for a database, so that I could place my collection at my website" – that’s what one of respondents said about this point. Plenty of users appreciate the opportunity to share their collection with friends, and movie tracking option is therefore a necessary feature for such sort of software.

Somewhat fourteen per cent of respondents are sure that a good movie manager must be constantly developing, discovering new options, introducing modern features and monitor user’s opinion about the options which are particularly appreciated by the software users.

About 30 per cent of respondents agree that a movie manager, being the software related to entertainment and art, must be visually attractive, or even beautiful. Many respondents appreciate that the software is not able to perform the functions announced, but when it does that beautifully. According to the latest survey findings, visual appeal is really, really important for this sort of software users. "There must be various display modes available in a movie manager, to any user’s taste".

Over 31 per cent of respondents mentioned in this relation All My Movies, as one of the brightest representatives of powerful movie manager software having various display modes and possessing all possible movie cataloguing functions. "Virtual shelf mode, cover thumbnails mode, bright colourful skinnable interface, large covers, "capture a still" option, name directory with actors’ photos, biography and filmography – all these things make the program really nice, very appealing and a "must-have" for any movie collector.
